After experiencing two control bugs -- one where forward/back thrusters went out of control, another where turn and pitch went out of control, resulting in wild spinning -- I submitted a tag, provided Ray with my config, and received very useful advice.

It is often the case that a given button, slider, lever, etc., has no useful VO function for a given player. When that is the case, do not leave the setting blank. Instead, set it to NONE.

For example, if you don't want to use a device feature labeled, JOYX --

Wrong:
JOYX=

Right:
JOYX=NONE

Ray explained that if VO sees a blank, it will attempt to fill it with something "useful." This is how config files get overwritten sometimes.

I think this will solve many of the control bugs I have been hearing about lately.
