I guess they thought they were going to become another Norway and were in total Fantasy Land as to the realities.
I think it was the best result: they get a lot of things now (unless London takes all promises back, so they have to repeat it all) and still be in the UK.

Very true foo, some cynics have even suggested Scotland played it that way to get Westminster to bend over backwards to be generous.
is the 23yr Laphroig Vintage 1991 really worth €230? Describing it as an "investment" makes me doubt that you can drink it...

Well, I wouldn't pay that much for a bottle of whisky, I have always taken the view that it is for drinking not investing.
