I've been helping axia jack test his plotting program, and it is working well.  If you install the plugin, it reports sector data to his server so that when you plot, you get the advantage of using current data.  He marks storms for 12hours because that's the max a storm can last.  His plotting algo is done server-side, so VERY fast.  His plotter will also plot from any sector, to any sector.  Not just station and wh sectors.

I'll post the plugin here, and watch for updates at: http://static.artfulcode.net/vo/

Usage:  /plot

It seems its broken. Sometimes it works but mostly it has an INTERNAL SERVER 500
- By Lisa201 (Trident Captain) Date 2014-01-09 20:05
I've not been using it for a while, I see the web site doesn't have a newer version, so maybe he's abandoned it.
The 500 error is web page not found I think, so his server might be down.  If this continues to happen, I'd say he doesn't support it anymore.

I am willing to take over hosting of his code IF IT CAN BE RUN ON LINUX (DEBIAN preferred).

I have a physical server (racked), a high-grade firewall, and a business internet connection at my disposal.

If it is confirmed he is no longer hosting the code, and IF you can obtain the server-side code,  we can work something out ...

Cool!

I have no clue. I'm not filled in on his project.

I tried contacting on the email given in the code:

<fabian@0x0b.de>

Hi Seton,

unfortunately, I'm not the author of Axia plotter. Instead, I wrote the
http library it uses.

Nice attempt Seton, with an unfortunate result. I vaguely remember the plugin.

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner. I was travelling
last week for work and was unable to keep up with
personal correspondence.

The source for the entire project is all available on
github: https://github.com/jsober/axia.
It has not been updated in quite some time. Feel free to
fork it. The server is a django app, but the code should .  be easy enough to port to whatever your favorite platform
is. If I recall correctly, I kept most of the navigation logic
in their own modules and used the django framework as
glue and orm.

Is there still interest in this? I can host it on django, windows or Linux either way. Lisa?

Lisa is inactive. I don't know the status of Axia Jack or his server.

Is there value in re-starting this project?
- By danstr Date 2017-08-10 20:13
Possibly? I can see a good chunk of benefits, but I'm unsure if it would be worth it.

We already have a storm avoidance tool that works fine. It's available to full members, and I can brief dimmyr on it at the appropriate time.

A related capability, which I would value, is an improved Evade function. Navcomp (not a TGFT product) has a dumb tool that keeps putting me in places I don't want to be. We could discuss specifics if you want to work on this.

I'm all ears.

Can you give me the specific you were referring to?
